President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved admission plans for higher and secondary vocational education institutions for 2026 and the composition of the state commission for student admissions during an expanded meeting Cabinet of Ministers meeting on Friday, Turkmen state media reported.
According to the approved documents, Admissions to educational institutions will be organized from July 13 to August 24, 2026. Entrance examinations will be held at the locations of the respective higher and secondary vocational education institutions. Admission plans for the 2026-2027 academic year at the Academy of Public Service under the President of Turkmenistan were also approved.
During the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Mammedov reported on the results of work carried out in the education sector during the first six months of the year. It was noted that during the reporting period, students and pupils won a total of 992 medals at international subject and online competitions, while Turkmen athletes earned 415 medals at international sporting events.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed the importance of completing preparations for the new academic year on time and instructed officials to ensure high-level preparations for the opening ceremonies of the new buildings of the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction and the Seyitnazar Seydi Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute, which will be commissioned this year.
The head of state emphasized the importance of admitting talented and deserving youth, as well as the need for fair and transparent entrance exams with public oversight. He instructed officials to continue research activities, strengthen the material and technical base of the healthcare system and further expand opportunities for young people to engage in mass sports.
The meeting also reviewed several other important issues related to state affairs and adopted relevant decisions.
