Turkmen President Appoints New Mary, Lebap, Balkan Governors

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov dismissed and appointed the governors of Mary, Lebap and Balkan regions during an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Friday, Turkmen state media reported.

Durdy Meymanovich Genjiyev, Governor of Lebap Region and Chairman of the State Committee for Water Management, was relieved of his post as governor of the region. Hojamyrat Ashyrmyradov was appointed Governor of Lebap Region and relieved of his duties as Governor of Balkan Region.

Rovshen Velmyradovich Jumayev was appointed Governor of Balkan Region and relieved of his duties as Governor of the Ak Bugday District of Ahal Region.

The head of state dismissed Dovranberdi Orazberdiyevich Annaberdiyev from his post as Governor of Mary Region due to his transfer to another position. Batyr Durdygylyjovich Orazgylyjov, previously Director of the Research Institute of Crop Production of the Ministry of Agriculture, was appointed Governor of Mary Region.

During the expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, the President of Turkmenistan instructed the heads of the agricultural sector and the governors of the regions and the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag to ensure the successful implementation of the “Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country for 2022–2028” and the National Rural Program, strengthen oversight of the construction of housing, hospitals and other social facilities in the regions and cities, and further improve the architectural and urban development of cities.
