A new sulfur-free natural gas flow of commercial significance has been discovered at Well No. 04 in a gas field in Mary province, Turkmen state media reported on Sunday.

Turkmen gas workers obtained the natural gas flow after drilling to a depth of 2,916 meters. The well is producing more than 700,000 cubic meters of natural gas per day from underground reservoirs located at depths of 2,858-2,860 meters, consisting of pure methane.

The new gas discovery is part of ongoing efforts to increase hydrocarbon production and expand output capacity in Turkmenistan's fuel and energy sector.

Earlier, specialists from the Turkmengazburawlayysh drilling directorate, commissioned by the Marygazchykarysh production association, discovered a new gas flow at Well No. 264 of the Galkynysh gas field. After drilling to a depth of more than 4,000 meters and developing the productive interval between 3,852 and 4,011 meters, the well yielded a daily natural gas flow of 2.24 million cubic meters.
