President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved a proposal to hold the Turkmenistan Investment Forum in Ashgabat in October 2026 during a regular Cabinet meeting held via a digital system on Friday, according to Turkmen state media.
During the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Hojamyrat Geldimyradov reported on preparations for the Turkmenistan Investment Forum. The forum and related events will focus on economic development and investment attractiveness of Turkmenistan, key areas of the fuel, energy and industrial sectors, as well as the development of reliable transport and communication systems.
The discussions will also cover digital and “green” transformation for sustainable development, the introduction of digital financial technologies, agricultural entrepreneurship, the resilience of the agricultural sector amid climate change and environmental protection.
The forum will also include an exchange of views on the development of trade, services and public-private partnerships, areas of cooperation with leading financial institutions, and strategic directions for economic diversification.
After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan is making productive efforts to attract foreign investment into the national economy and expand international cooperation in this area. Approving the proposal to hold the Turkmenistan Investment Forum in Ashgabat in October, the President instructed the deputy prime minister to take the necessary measures to prepare for the upcoming event.
