Retail sales of school supplies will begin on August 1 in the provinces and districts of Turkmenistan, as well as in the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag. Ahead of the new 2026-2027 academic year, relevant preparations are underway to organize the sale of goods needed by students and pupils, Turkmen state media reported on Friday.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Nokerguly Atagulyyev reported on practical steps being taken to prepare for retail sales of school supplies during a regular Cabinet meeting held via a digital system on Friday.
According to the report, ahead of the new academic year, trading outlets will offer school supplies and various textile products to the public.
In this regard, the deputy prime minister submitted a proposal to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to organize the sale of school supplies in Turkmenistan’s provinces and districts, as well as in Ashgabat and Arkadag cities, starting from August 1, 2026.
After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that mobile sales outlets should be organized ahead of the new academic year based on an assessment of public demand for various types of school supplies. The head of state approved the proposal and instructed the deputy prime minister to carry out the relevant work.
