A new flow of natural gas has been obtained at the Çemmerli gas field, located in Turkmenistan’s Central Karakum Desert, Turkmen state media reported on Thursday.
According to the report, the Türkmengazburawlaýyş Department drilled appraisal and production well No. 265 with a designed depth of 1,200 meters as part of the development of the Çemmerli field, commissioned by the Döwletabatgazçykaryş Department of the state concern Türkmengaz. Testing of the well at a depth interval of 1,114–1,110 meters resulted in a natural gas flow of more than 150,000–200,000 cubic meters per day.
The new gas flow also demonstrates that drilling operations carried out by Türkmengazburawlaýyş are being conducted using modern technologies, while production processes continue to be improved.
The discovery of a new gas flow at the Çemmerli field in the Central Karakum Desert highlights the effectiveness of ongoing efforts in Turkmenistan’s fuel and energy sector. The identification and development of new oil and gas fields enable the country to increase natural gas production volumes, further strengthening Turkmenistan’s position as an exporter of energy resources.
