Kazakhstan starts construction of the new 800-kilometer Beineu-Saksaulsk highway, which is expected to become a key international transport artery. Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev launched construction on August 3 during a videoconference, the Kazakh presidential press service Akorda reported.
“Strengthening ties within Kazakhstan, the road will also become a “golden bridge” between China and Europe,” Tokayev said.
According to him, the project will directly connect checkpoints on the Chinese border with the ports of Aktau and Kuryk. As a result, the distance for freight transportation from China to Europe will be reduced by 1,000 kilometers, while delivery time will be reduced to three days.
“In the value system of our people, the construction of wells and bridges has long been considered an expression of virtue and care for people. In other words, we are beginning to implement an extremely important initiative that will serve both our well-being and the well-being of our neighbors,” the Kazakh President expressed.
According to the Head of state, the Beineu-Saksaulsk highway will receive the status of a key transport artery of national, regional and transcontinental importance. “That is why the name “Aral-Caspian Highway” is the most appropriate for this route” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
The President of Kazakhstan emphasized that all launched projects must be completed within strictly established deadlines, no later than 2029.
