Turkmen President Congratulates Malaysian and Kyrgyz Leaders on Independence Days

Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent congratulations and best wishes to Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, the 17th Supreme Head of State, Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, and the people of Malaysia on Independence Day, as well as to Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov and the people of Kyrgyzstan on the 35th anniversary of the country’s independence, Turkmenistan’s official media reported Monday.

In his message to Malaysia’s leaders, Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan highly values its traditional friendly relations with the country. The Turkmen President expressed confidence that Turkmen-Malaysian cooperation would continue to develop based on the principles of mutual respect, trust and equal partnership.

Head of the state said talks held in Ashgabat confirmed the countries’ interest in strengthening Turkmen-Malaysian cooperation and that important decisions were made to expand and deepen bilateral relations. He also expressed confidence that the results of the Malaysian Prime minister’s official visit to Turkmenistan would serve the interests of the people of two countries.

The Turkmen President wished Anwar Ibrahim and Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar good health and happiness, and the people of Malaysia peace, prosperity, development and well-being.

In his message to Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, Berdimuhamedov noted that Kyrgyzstan has achieved significant successes in the political and socioeconomic spheres since gaining independence and continues to develop in various areas. He also stressed Turkmen-Kyrgyz relations, based on the principles of good-neighborliness, friendship and mutual understanding, are developing dynamically and consistently.

The Turkmen President expressed confidence that close cooperation aimed at serving the interests of the peoples of the two countries would be further expanded. He wished Japarov good health, happiness and well-being, and the people of Kyrgyzstan peace, development and prosperity.
