Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov invited Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to attend the CIS Heads of State Summit to be held this year as part of Turkmenistan’s chairmanship of the CIS, during a phone conversation between the two leaders, Turkmen state media reported Friday.
The Head of state noted that the summit, to be held as part of Turkmenistan’s chairmanship of the CIS, will take place Oct. 9 in the Avaza National Tourist Zone.
Pashinyan thanked Berdimuhamedov for the invitation and noted that Turkmenistan’s foreign policy aimed at strengthening sustainable development in the region enjoys broad support from the international community. He also noted Armenia would actively participate in the summit.
During the phone conversation, the sides also exchanged views on issues on the agenda of Turkmen-Armenian relations. They also emphasized the importance of further advancing bilateral cooperation in various areas.
