Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, met with Michael Harms, executive director of the German Eastern Business Association, and invited him to participate in celebrations marking the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence and Health and Pharmaceutical Industry Workers’ Day, Turkmenistan’s official media reported Sunday.
Michael Harms warmly welcomed the National Leader of the Turkmen people once again on German soil, thanked him for finding time for the meeting and noted that Germany attaches great importance to developing mutually beneficial cooperation with Turkmenistan. He also conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
The executive director of the German Eastern Business Association noted the great popularity of Akhal-Teke horses around the world. He also said he regularly reads Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s works dedicated to Akhal-Teke horses and highly appreciates efforts initiated by him to promote this national heritage around the world.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov thanked him for his kind words and hospitality and said cooperation between Turkmenistan and Germany is being effectively developed in various areas. He also noted that trade and economic relations, as well as cooperation in health care and agriculture, are among the important areas.
The meeting paid particular attention to Turkmen-German cooperation in health care. The National Leader of the Turkmen people said advanced German technologies and equipment have been installed at medical facilities planned to be commissioned this year, and cooperation with German specialists is underway to make use of the capabilities of artificial intelligence.
Michael Harms confirmed their readiness to develop cooperation with Turkmenistan and highlighted the importance of the medical cluster being built in Arkadag City. He also said the German side is interested in developing cooperation and exchanging experience in this area.
At the end of the meeting, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, and Michael Harms, executive director of the German Eastern Business Association, expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation would be further strengthened and exchanged best wishes.
