A total of 59 chicken egg producers and 76 broiler meat producers are registered with the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, a representative of the poultry industry at the UIET told Business Turkmenistan during the Economic Achievements Exhibition of Turkmenistan, held in Ashgabat on Sept. 17-19.
According to the representative, egg-producing enterprises have poultry houses with a total capacity of more than 5.8 million birds and can produce about 3.49 million eggs per day, or more than 1.25 billion eggs annually. Ahal province has the largest production capacity, with 38 enterprises and a combined annual capacity of nearly 868 million eggs. It is followed by Balkan province with six enterprises and an annual capacity of 227.4 million eggs, Dashoguz province with six enterprises and 82 million eggs, Mary province with three enterprises and nearly 49.7 million eggs, and Lebap province with six enterprises and 30.5 million eggs annually.
Two hatcheries, Hoşzaman and Nurly Meýdan, supply chicks for the egg-producing sector, with a combined annual capacity of 4.7 million chicks.
The UIET has registered 76 broiler meat producers, with poultry houses capable of accommodating nearly 7.74 million birds and a combined annual production capacity of about 74,000 tons of meat. Ahal province accounts for 59 enterprises with an annual capacity of 57,138.5 tons. Balkan province has six enterprises with a capacity of 7,280.1 tons, Mary province has four enterprises and 4,668 tons, Lebap province has four enterprises and 4,300.8 tons, and Dashoguz province has three enterprises and 624 tons of meat annually.
Seven hatcheries operate in the country to replenish the broiler population, with a combined annual capacity of about 51.3 million chicks. They include Altyn Jüýje in Gökdepe district, Guş Toplumy in Baherden district, Diýar guşy in Kaka district, a hatchery in Kaka district, Nurly Meýdan in Bereket district, Atamyrat Aly in Çärjew district and Ýaşyl Ýaz in Baýramaly district.
Turkey production is also developing in the sector. One farm in Gökdepe etrap has an annual production capacity of 360,000 birds.
