Three days off have been declared in Turkmenistan to create favorable conditions for the country’s population to celebrate Independence Day and enjoy a good rest on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence, Turkmen state media reported Wednesday.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree, in accordance with Part 2 of Article 81 of the Labor Code of Turkmenistan, declaring Sept. 28, 2026, a non-working day and moving the day off from Sept. 27 to Sept. 29, Tuesday.
Thus, Sept. 27, 28 and 29 will be days off. According to the document, all institutions, enterprises and organizations, regardless of their form of ownership, must ensure the implementation of the decree.
The decree was signed by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Sept. 23, 2026.
