A meeting between Emin Mammadov, Chairman of the board of Azerbaijan’s Azerhalcha joint-stock company, and Akjemal Durdyyeva, Chairwoman of Turkmenhaly State Association, was held in Ashgabat to discuss opportunities for exchanging carpet-weaving expertise and implementing joint projects, Azerhalcha reported on its social media posts.
The sides also discussed the current state of cooperation in carpet weaving and prospects for its further development.
During the meeting, the Azerbaijani side invited representatives of Turkmenistan to participate in the international carpet festival traditionally held in Azerbaijan.
The most recent festival took place in May 2025 and brought together participants from 19 countries. The event featured 14 national pavilions and about 500 handmade carpets produced in Azerbaijan, the AZERTAC news agency reported.
