Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received an honorary doctorate in International Relations from Hacettepe University in Ankara on Oct. 30 during his visit to the Republic of Türkiye, according to the official X account of Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz.
Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, Hacettepe University officials, members of the academic community and other officials attended the ceremony.
The event highlighted the importance of strengthening friendly relations between Türkiye and Turkmenistan, as well as cooperation in science, education, technology and between higher education institutions.
In his address, Yılmaz emphasized that cooperation among Turkic states should extend beyond their shared history, language and culture to include scientific and academic ties. He also highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation between universities, developing joint research projects and strengthening ties in higher education.
