Turkmenistan Airlines to Open New Flights to Asia
Turkmenistan's aviators plan to significantly expand the geography of regular international flights in 2019.

Turkmenistan Airlines will increase the frequency of its flights on the Ashgabat-Kazan route and open new flights to Southeast Asia and the Arabian Peninsula.

From July 3 to September 11, additional flights of the Boeing 737-800 aircraft will be operated to Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan. It will fly out of Ashgabat on Wednesdays at 6.25 am.

Turkmenistan's aviators plan to significantly expand the geography of regular international flights in 2019. Turkmenistan Airlines officials are negotiating the establishment of direct air communication with the countries of the Asia-Pacific region. The first flight Tokyo-Ashgabat-Tokyo has already been organized. Ashgabatsyyahat, the state tourism enterprise, and Turkmenistan Airlines have jointly developed an exclusive tour for tourists from Japan. The tour is scheduled for June 26-30.

The further development of air travel with the countries of the Asia-Pacific region, Southeast Asia and the Arabian Peninsula will include the use of the latest aviation technology - the long-haul ultramodern aircraft Boeing 777-200 LR. Regular flights to Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) will be operated on this comfortable jetliner, and regular flights to Kuala Lumpur will soon be resumed.

Aviators plan to use the favorable geographical position of Ashgabat for the organization of transit flights of tourists from Southeast Asia traveling to religious shrines. Turkmenistan Airlines will deliver passengers from Ashgabat to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the city of Jeddah, the seaport of which takes over the main stream of pilgrims heading for the Hajj to Mecca and Medina.

Currently, routes are being developed that will allow tourists from Europe, Turkey, the CIS countries, Thailand and Vietnam to fly to the Arabian Peninsula via Ashgabat International Airport. These flights would be connected with flights from Germany, France, England, Russia and Turkey to Ashgabat, which will create additional amenities for transit travelers. New air routes will open in November this year.
