Turkmen President Meets With Heads of Calik Holding and ARETI

On Thursday, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the Chairman of the board of the Turkey's Calik Holding Ahmet Calik and the head of the International group of companies ARETI Igor Makarov, who arrived to Turkmenistan for the first Caspian Economic Forum.

During the meeting, the head of Calik Holding informed the President of Turkmenistan on the implementation of projects and of earlier instructions entrusted to the company.

In particular, report was about the construction of a 500-kilovolt transmission line along the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline. It was noted that construction works are carried out as planned.

The Turkmen leader emphasized that the implementation of the TAP project will provide an opportunity to export Turkmen electricity to other countries of Southeast Asia. In this regard, the head of state drew the attention of the head of Çalik Holding to the need to ensure the high quality of the implemented projects, as well as to complete all work within the deadlines established by the contract.

During the meeting with the head of the ARETI International Group of Companies Igor Makarov, Turkmen leader reiterated the openness of Turkmenistan for the constructive partnership with the World’s leading companies. The Turkmen leader and the guest discussed issues of cooperation in oil and gas and touched upon the topic of the first Caspian economic forum in which a delegation of ARETI International Group of Companies at the head of Makarov will take part.

The Russian businessman informed on the realization of joint projects in Turkmenistan with participation of ARETI and showed interest in long-term partnership in the energy sector.

Besides it, they also discussed the organizational measures of the Track Cycling World Championship in 2021 and UCI Road World Championship – in 2026 in Turkmenistan.

As I.Makarov noted, on Thursday ARETI presented zone three bicycle rental points in national tourist zone Avaza. “As master of sports of international class and once a professional sportsman – I am very glad that I take part in a large scale work carried out in Turkmenistan to develop bicycle sports,” the businessman added.
