Turkmenistan Establishes the Institute of the Caspian Sea

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a decree to abolish the State Enterprise for the Caspian Sea under the President of Turkmenistan and establish the Institute of the Caspian Sea on its basis.

Control over the activities of the Institute of the Caspian Sea is entrusted to the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov.

The Institute of the Caspian Sea is defined as the assignee of the abolished State Enterprise for the Caspian Sea under the President of Turkmenistan.

The Institute was created with the aim of developing cooperation in the Caspian Sea region, analyzing various activities, conducting marine scientific research, preparing international legal and national documents related to the Caspian Sea, and reviewing the implementation of international treaties in Turkmenistan on Caspian issues and the preparation of specialized methodological information.
