Business Representatives From 32 Countries Took Part in Avaza Meeting

As part of the first Caspian Economic Forum, Berkarar Hotel in Avaza hosted a meeting of the business companies of the Caspian littoral states on Sunday.

Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Chary Gylyjov, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, touched upon projects jointly implemented by local and foreign companies in recent years and noted the potential for cooperation between the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan and the Caspian countries.

The first session of the meeting was moderated by Myrat Archayev, the Chairman of the Turkmengaz State Concern. The session focused on the areas and prospects of cooperation in the oil and gas industry.

During the meeting, the Chief Executive Officer of Petronas in Turkmenistan, Ruslan bin Abdul Gani, made a presentation about their ongoing oil and gas projects in Turkmenistan. He also noted that Petronas is the first company to start offshore oil production in ​​the country. 

Abdul Gani said Petronas has produced 24 million tons of oil in Turkmenistan so far and expressed interest in continuing cooperation with the Caspian countries.

Speaking at the session, Director of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) Ye Tsianeng talked about his company's cooperation with Turkmenistan.

Along with companies from the Caspian littoral states, the meeting was also attended by the business representatives from the United Kingdom, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Germany, India, Afghanistan, Georgia, France, Belgium, Ukraine, the United Arab Emirates, Austria, the United States, Qatar, Belarus, Japan, China, Korea, Malaysia, Bulgaria, Italy, Switzerland, Estonia and Spain.
