Turkmen Delegation Attends 7th China – Central Asia Cooperation Forum
The participants mainly covered issues of strengthening cooperation to improve the interconnectedness of landlocked and not landlocked regions.

The Turkmen delegation attended the 7th China-Central Asia Cooperation Forum held in Nanning city, the administrative center of China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on October 18-19.

Chinese Committee of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation, Foreign Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and People’s Government of the region jointly organized the event.

The meeting gathered representatives of different sectors of economy from Turkmenistan, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia and Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN), heads of the government structures and private sector, delegates from international organizations, non-government associations and journalists.

At the Forum, heads of national delegations had meetings with representatives of China who head various branches including financial and economic sphere, transport sector, construction and industry.

Delegates from Central Asian countries and their Chinese counterparts mainly covered issues of strengthening cooperation to improve the interconnectedness of landlocked and not landlocked regions and stimulating overall progress through innovations.

At panel sessions, the participants discussed joint plans in the spheres of transboundary logistics, electronic commerce, and joint construction of smart cities as well as consolidation of women in realization of big projects in different spheres.

Exhibition of production of participating countries took place in the China –ASEAN Exhibition hall. Turkmenistan displayed its famous carpets, national jewelry and other samples of decorative and applied art as well as printing products.

The goal of China – Central Asia Cooperation Forum is to give new impulse to the cooperation between China and Central Asian and Caucasian states, as well as to develop coordinated approaches to expansion of multidimensional partnership. The forum was established in 2012.
