President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will pay a working visit to Uzbekistan on November 28-29, Turkmen Foreign Ministry announced Friday.
During the visit, Turkmen President will hold bilateral meeting with President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The leaders of the two nations will consider the opportunities of expanding the Turkmen-Uzbek ties on the whole range of cooperation.
The Presidents have had a telephone conversation on October 30. The Leaders have focused on the strategic role of transport corridors between the neighboring states, including highway and railway bridges build in Turkmenistan across the Amu Darya River.
The Leaders of the neighboring states last time met on October 10 prior to the meeting of Council of Heads of CIS States in Ashgabat.
The Presidents noted the importance of implementing joint infrastructure projects, and above all, the formation of a new transit corridor that will allow in the shortest way accessing the seaports in Iran, Oman and India, having created opportunities for further growth in trade, transit and investments.
