The second Consultative meeting of the Heads of state of Central Asia took place in Uzbekistan’s capital of Tashkent.
The President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev attended the summit.
A five-sided summit in a narrow format took place in the Small Conference Room of the Kuksaroy Palace. Then the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia continued in the Big Conference Hall of the palace in an expanded format.
The President of Turkmenistan suggested the Heads of Central Asian countries to think about creating a five-sided Business Council.
Following the results of the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of States of Central Asia, the parties adopted a Joint Statement.
“The consultative summit made it possible to comprehensively consider promising areas, forms and mechanisms for further development of cooperation in the fields of trade, economy, investment, transport and transit, agriculture, industrial cooperation, environmental protection, energy, water, tourism, science and culture”, the Statement said.
On the same day, the Heads of State took part in a joint ceremony of planting trees at the park of honored guests of the Kuksaroy State Residence.
In the afternoon, the Presidents proceeded to the memorial complex of the first President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.
