Trade Turnover Between Turkmenistan, Russia Up by 80 Percent
In January-September, Turkmenistan exported $6.7 million worth of oil products to Russia.

The trade turnover between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation increased by 80% in the first nine months of this year, compared with the same period last year.

According to the Federal Customs Service of Russian Federation, plastic products are at the top of the list of goods imported from Turkmenistan.

During the corresponding period, Turkmenistan supplied Russia with polymer products worth over $47.5 million.

In January-September, Turkmenistan exported $6.7 million worth of oil products to Russia. This figure is 6.8 times higher than the last year’s.

Russia is also a stable importer of Turkmen cotton yarn.

Besides exports through exchange trading, Turkmen businesses are also exporting various goods to the Russian market. Röwşen footwear manufacturer exported over 6600 pairs of shoes to the Russian Federation for the first time in October. A large batch of socks under Akar trademark was also exported to Russia last year.

Of the agricultural products produced in Turkmenistan, tomatoes are in great demand in the Russian market. The Russian Federation, which is the main importer of tomatoes in the world, purchased about $630 million worth of tomatoes last year.

Turkmenistan exported about $83.1 million worth of products to the Russian Federation in 2017. Of total Turkmen exports, textile products account for $50.1 million, polymer products for $28.7 million, and tomatoes account for $2.45 million.
