By the decree of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the French Republic Jumayev Shohrat Durdykulyyevich was appointed representative of Turkmenistan at the Bureau of International Expositions.
Jumayev, which has been occupying the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the French Republic since December 20, 2018, was appointed Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to UNESCO on May 2 this year.
The Bureau of International Expositions was founded in 1928 in Paris. The organization currently includes 170 countries.
Turkmenistan became a member of the Bureau on September 16, 2012.
For the first time, Turkmenistan took part in a specialized exhibition of the international organization that was held in the city of Daejeon of the Republic of Korea in 1993.
The theme of the pavilion of Turkmenistan in the EXPO 2020 international exhibition, which will open in October 2020, will be The Power of Five. The area of the Turkmen pavilion will cover 1,581 square meters. Tekmil Private Company will build and equip the pavilion for the Expo 2020 Dubai. The pavilion will be the largest one with which Turkmenistan has participated in the exhibitions to date.
