European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), in collaboration with the Consultants Department of the Union of Economists of Turkmenistan (UET), held the eight Business Platform on Tuesday.
The event titled "Managing Opportunities and Risks in Business" took place at the Yyldyz Hotel in Ashgabat.
The representative of the EBRD Natalia Akmyradova and the Chairman of the UET Yuri Aronsky gave speech at the opening ceremony. The organizers got acquainted with entrepreneurial activities in Turkmenistan and noted that the meeting will allow participants to obtain useful information for promoting their business.
The first to speak at the meeting was the Director of MCT Agency Daniil Majkowskiy. In his presentation “Is it necessary to be afraid of risks?” Maykovsky drew attention to the importance of the risk management strategy in business.
The Director of the Halkara Standard Hyzmatlary Individual Enterprise Vepa Myalikgulyev then took to the floor with a presentation called “How to ‘squeeze all the juices’ out of risks?”.
In the afternoon, the participants were divided into 4 groups and held discussions with the participation of a consultant on topics titled “Market as a minefield”, “Food safety at work”, “Costs of storing information - money down the drain or ensuring a reliable rear”, and “Changes and risks in the organization.”
EBRD and UET organized the first Business Platform in May 2017. The event is held regularly in the framework of the EBRD's Advice for Small Businesses programme, which aims to upgrade the skills and practices of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through local and international advice. The Advice for Small Businesses programme in Turkmenistan is funded by the European Union.
