President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will visit St. Petersburg on December 20 to participate in an informal summit of CIS Heads of State.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will visit St. Petersburg on December 20 to participate in an informal summit of CIS Heads of State.

At a session of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan on December 18, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov briefed the Head of State about the preparations for the planned visit to the Russian Federation.

After the briefing, the President emphasized that Turkmenistan will continue to play an active role in partnership issues within the framework of the Commonwealth and gave a number of instructions to the Foreign Minister regarding the preparations for the upcoming working visit to the Russian Federation.

Ashgabat hosted the meetings of the Council of Foreign Ministers and the Council of Heads of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries on October 10-11, in the framework of Turkmenistan’s CIS chairmanship in 2019.
