A delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan attended on December 2 -13 the 25th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP25) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in Madrid.
The international forum gathered delegations from 200 countries and representatives of 100 international and public organizations.
The participants of the session addressed environmental issues, particularly combating climate change, as well as the impact of climate change on human health.
The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) was adopted in 1992 in Rio de Janeiro, and entered into force in 1994. Currently, the Convention has been signed by 198 countries. The next 26th session of the Conference will take place on November 9-19, 2020 in Glasgow, Great Britain.
