Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET) hosted on Thursday a meeting with Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Turkmenistan Turatbek Junushaliyev and Second Secretary of the Embassy Mars Kamalov.
Deputy Chairman of the Union and Entrepreneurs, heads and representatives of the trade and international departments of the UIET took part in the discussions.
Parties to the meeting paid special attention to cooperation in the field of tourism. In this regard, representatives of the Kyrgyz side made a proposal to attract Turkmen entrepreneurs to the construction and investment of tourist facilities in Issyk-Kul. They sides also discussed the possibility of partnership between tour operators of the two countries.
In order to expand trade cooperation, the importance of opening the Trading House of Turkmenistan in Bishkek was emphasized. They also exchanged views on the introduction of a trade representative at the embassies of the two countries, the facilitated visa regime for entrepreneurs, the opening of a flight between Ashgabat and Bishkek, and the creation of joint ventures
Over the first seven months of this year, the mutual trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan amounted to $6.5 million.
Turkmenistan mainly supplied Kyrgyzstan in 2019 with fresh tomatoes, bakery and flour products, beddings, pipes and hoses, sinks, and toilets. In turn, Turkmenistan imported lamps, films, plastic tapes, and machinery for the manufacture of textile yarn from Kyrgyzstan.
