Turkmen MFA Briefing Focuses on Aral Sea and First CES
The representatives of various organizations, Ambassadors of Turkmenistan accredited abroad, and representatives of the local and foreign mass media attended the briefing.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted on Saturday the briefing dedicated to the results of the chairmanship of Turkmenistan in the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea during the period of 2017-2019, as well as the First Caspian Economic Forum held on August 11-12 of current year in the Avaza National Tourism Zone.

The representatives of Turkmen Foreign Ministry, Executive Committee of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea, Institute of the Caspian Sea, Ambassadors of Turkmenistan accredited abroad, representatives of the local and foreign mass media, and students of Journalism major attended the briefing.

The participants were briefed about the results of the work of Turkmenistan in the framework of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea, including the development of the Action Program for Assisting the Aral Sea Basin Countries (ASBP-4) and the Regional Plan of Action on Nature Protection.

“Turkmenistan made a worthy input in the attainment of the main goal of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea – the improvement of the ecological and social-economic situation in the Aral Sea basin. Turkmenistan became a vital link in the process of further consolidation of the efforts of the world community, the vivid proof of which is the adoption of the corresponding resolutions during the sessions of the UN General Assembly that were initiated by Turkmenistan,” noted the participants of the briefing.

The attendees of the briefing were also informed about the vital role of the First Caspian Economic Forum that opened a new stage of collaboration not only between the countries of the Caspian region, but also the whole Eurasian continent. The parties also underlined that the Forum became an effective platform in strengthening trade-economic and humanitarian cooperation.

The special informational publications dedicated to the chairmanship of Turkmenistan in the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea and the First Caspian Economic Forum were also presented to the participants.
