President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a decree during a governmental meeting on Friday approving the volume of petroleum products for domestic consumption in Turkmenistan in 2020.
The corresponding decree was signed in accordance with the “Program for the Development of the Oil and Gas Industry of Turkmenistan for the Period until 2030” with the aim to ensure uninterrupted supply of institutions, enterprises, public associations, individual entrepreneurs and the population with petroleum products, as well as for the successful completion of tasks for their most rational use
During the meeting, The Head of State emphasized the role of the fuel and energy complex in the economy of Turkmenistan and noted that it is important to systematically increase the production and processing of oil and natural gas and the production of petrochemical products.
According to the State Committee for Statistics of Turkmenistan, in January-October 2019, the country exported 2.53 million tons of various types of petroleum products. In July last year, the country began exporting synthetic gasoline produced from natural gas. Turkmenistan has delivered 48.8 thousand tons of the synthetic gasoline to the foreign markets.
