Representatives of Caspian Littoral States Mull Maritime Safety in Ashgabat
Authorized representatives of the Caspian littoral states gathered in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan for a three-day meeting on securing maritime safety.

Authorized representatives of the Caspian littoral states gathered in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan to discuss maritime safety and security.

During the three-day meeting, which started Monday, the parties will discuss the draft Protocol on cooperation in the field of Securing Maritime Safety in the Caspian Sea.

The meeting is also attended by experts from the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan, employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Institute of the Caspian Sea, the Türkmendeňizderýaýollary agency of the Ministry of Industry and Communications of Turkmenistan.

The participants will discuss the draft Protocol and the coordination of proposals of the parties.

The Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea was signed in Aktau, Kazakhstan, in August 2018. The Parties to this Convention are the Caspian littoral States – the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan.
