Caspian Littoral States Join Efforts to Combat Poaching in Sea
The fifth meeting of the experts of Caspian states on negotiating the Draft of the Protocol on cooperation in combatting poaching in the Sea takes place in Ashgabat in February 3-5.

Experts of Caspian littoral states gathered in Ashgabat to discuss cooperation in combating poaching in the sea.

The fifth meeting of the experts of Caspian states on negotiating the Draft of the Protocol on cooperation in the area of combatting illegal extraction of biological resources (poaching) in the Sea started at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on Monday. 

The meeting is attended by the representatives of the Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the Institute of the Caspian Sea, and the State Border Service, as well as representatives of relevant ministries and structures of Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan and Russia.

In the beginning of the meeting, the attendees noted the negotiation on the Draft of the Protocol holds an important place in the agenda of mutual cooperation of Caspian States.

The parties noted that the Protocol is being developed in accordance with the Agreement on Security Cooperation in the Caspian Sea, and the completion of the approval of the Draft of the Protocol is the main goal of the meeting.

The fifth meeting of the experts of Caspian states on negotiating the Draft of the Protocol will continue until February 5.
