Lebap Cement Factory produced 857 thousand tons of products last year and exported 256 thousand tons of it. The enterprise mainly exported M400 and M500 Portland cement brands to Uzbekistan and Afghanistan.
Lebap Cement Factory, located in the Koytendag etrap in the northeastern Turkmenistan, is equipped with modern production machinery based on innovative technologies. The plant is one of the largest factories in the Central Asia.
The Deputy Director of the plant Jumanazar Roziyev said the factory uses local raw materials for the cement production, adding that the nearby eight-hectare deposit is the plant’s main raw material base.
“High-temperature furnaces are important in the processing of raw materials and obtaining finished products. The factory has two of them, the first is the pre-heating workshop,” the head of the factory Gaygysyzmuhammet Amangeldiyev said, adding that the factory uses gas to fuel furnaces. To this end, he said a high pressure 274 km gas pipeline originating from the Bagtyyarlyk gas field was built during the construction of the plant.
Another Portland cement plant with an annual capacity of one ton, which will increase the country's export potential, will be constructed in the Koytendag etrap.
The production capacity of the Lebap Cement Factory, opened in February 2013, is one million tons per year. According to experts, the factory can increase the indicator to up to 1.5 million tons.
