Turkmenistan’s Top Diplomat to Visit Qatar on Saturday
Diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Qatar were established in 1996.

Rashid Meredov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, will pay a working visit to Qatar on Saturday.

During the video conference session of the Cabinet of Ministers on Thursday, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said strengthening fruitful relations with the Arab world is an important aspect of Turkmenistan's foreign policy.

Turkmen leader noted with satisfaction the traditionally friendly nature of Turkmen-Qatari relations and emphasized the presence of great potential to expand fruitful interstate relations on a long-term basis, as well as to clarify the priorities of cooperation.

In this regard, Turkmen leader assigned the Foreign Minister to ensure a high organizational level of preparation for a working visit to the capital of Qatar and signed the relevant Decree. The Head of State also assigned the Minister to convey an invitation to the Emir of Qatar to participate in celebrations on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality.

During his working visit, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov will discuss further development of bilateral relations in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

Diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Qatar were established in 1996.
