A two-day seminar on the effective collaboration skills between the government authorities and mass media kicked off in Ashgabat on Tuesday.
The seminar was organized by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Centre in Ashgabat.
The international experts from Great Britain and Poland covered a wide spectrum of issues including the role of press services in the digital era, online instruments of informing the public, specifics of communication strategies of state entities and other contemporary issues pertaining to informational-news activities.
In her opening speech, the Head of the OSCE Center in Ashgabat Natalya Drozd noted the timeliness and significance of the workshop from the perspective of Turkmenistan’s transition to the digital system of development, including the establishment of new as well as updating of already functioning government websites.
The Diplomat also said the goal of the session is to determine the values and standards in the informational-news activities, enhancement of working techniques in the online environment, improving the hosting of press conferences, as well as the drafting of thematic press releases.
The seminar gathered the heads and representatives of the OSCE, the representatives of the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH), the State Committee for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography, and the staff members of national and independent mass media of the country.
