Turkmen MFA Hosts Briefing on Coronavirus Prevention Measures
The briefing participants were informed that no cases of coronavirus or its symptoms had been detected in Turkmenistan.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on Thursday hosted the briefing on the measures for preventing the penetration of the dangerous infectious diseases, particularly the coronavirus COVID-19 to the country.

The briefing gathered heads and representatives of the diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vepa Hajiyev and the Minister of Healthcare and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan Nurmuhammet Amannepesov gave speeches during the briefing. The officials said all the necessary measures on the prevention of the dangerous infectious diseases are implemented in the country.

The briefing participants were informed that no cases of coronavirus or its symptoms had been detected in Turkmenistan.

The officials underlined that Turkmenistan stands for timely awareness and training of the population as well as for the expansion of epidemiological surveillance.

The participants were informed that the government takes all necessary measures for the effective and uninterrupted operation of land, rail, air and sea transport.

Then the meeting continued in question-and-answer format. During the briefing, the participants thanked the Turkmen side for hosting the event and stressed the responsible approach of Turkmenistan to preventing the penetration of the coronavirus to the country.

Turkmenistan established the Emergency Disease Control Commission in January this year.
