Turkmen President Expresses Dissatisfaction Over Operation of Garlyk Mining Complex
President of Turkmenistan expressed extreme dissatisfaction with the condition of the industrial enterprise, its unprofitable activities and other shortcomings.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov criticized the organization of production at the Garlyk Mining and Processing Plant during his working trip to Lebap velayat on Thursday.

The President of Turkmenistan focused on the state of affairs in the Garlyk Mining and Processing Complex and its current production parameters and expressed extreme dissatisfaction with the condition of the industrial enterprise, its unprofitable activities and other shortcomings.

The Head of State said all the shortcomings in the plant are a result of contractor’s lack of proper and responsible approach to the implementation of the project.

“The potash mining and processing plant was built by Belgorkhimprom Open Joint-Stock Company by the order of the Türkmenhimiýa State Concern,” Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said. “The project was intended to open a new milestone in the industrial development of Turkmenistan and to foster the development and processing of the country's colossal raw materials”.

“But the implementation of the project was delayed by the contractor, construction of the complex’s facilities were lagging behind the schedule, the deadlines for putting it into operation were repeatedly delayed, construction and other work provided for by contractual obligations were poorly executed,” President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted.

Turkmen President expressed dissatisfaction with the works carried out by the Türkmenhimiýa State Concern and handed a severe reprimand to the Chairman of the Concern Niyazly Niyazlyyev.

The Head of State then outlined the tasks set to rectify the situation in the complex and gave clear guidelines on organization of work and, first of all, on competent management of the complex.
