Government officials of Turkmenistan discussed the washing and disinfection of trains arriving from abroad with their Georgian counterparts during the video conference meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affair of Turkmenistan on Wednesday.
Government officials of the two countries’ economy and finance sectors, representatives of ministries of foreign affairs, heads of agencies and companies, transport and logistics centers attended the meeting.
The parties placed special emphasis on bilateral cooperation in the transport and transit sphere, focused on intensifying the Caspian Sea–Black Sea International Transport Corridor. The sides also exchanged views on the use of the Georgian Poti Seaport.
The interlocutors also discussed Georgia’s experience in washing and disinfection of trains arriving from abroad.
The sides noted the importance of establishing mutually beneficial contacts in the field of logistics and exchanged views on pricing issues in the field of cargo transportation, customs duties, trade benefits, and settlements between the relevant departments.
The 826-kilometer Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway linking Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey is currently in operation.
