Prospects of Turkmen-Georgian Transport Cooperation Discussed at Video Conference
According to the participants of the event, the transport sector is one of the key vectors of bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and Georgia.

Turkmen officials discussed with their Georgian partners the bilateral transport cooperation during the video conference session at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat on Thursday.

According to the participants of the event, the transport sector is one of the key vectors of bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and Georgia, and such cooperation is based on the coincidence of the positions of the sides on the creation of transport and transit corridors between Asia and Europe.

The parties also discussed the existing and planned transport corridors, the possibilities of transporting goods to European ports, the finished works to date and the prospects for further cooperation between Turkmenistan and Georgia.

The Turkmen side was represented by officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, teachers and students of the Institute of International Relations, heads and representatives of the Turkmen Logistics Association and Turkmen governmental transport agencies.

The Georgian side was represented by Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Turkmenistan.

The video conference session between the two countries was previously held on April 2. Back then, the sides noted the importance of establishing mutually beneficial contacts in the field of logistics and exchanged views on pricing issues in the field of cargo transportation, customs duties, trade benefits, and settlements between the relevant departments.
