Turkmen Farmers Harvest Over 200 Thousand Tons of Sugar Beet
The farmers continue the sugar beet harvest with full capacity in the final hectares.

The farmers in Mary velayat have planted sugar beet on 14,900 hectares of land in 2019 and have so far harvested 209 thousand tons of the crop.

From the beginning of the harvest season until April 10, more than 14,611 hectares of sugar beet planted across the velayat were harvested without loss. The farmers fulfilled the production plan by 104% and the average yield amounted to 143 centers per hectare.

Currently, the farmers continue the harvest with full capacity in the final hectares.

The sugar beet was planted in 10 etraps of Mary velayat. The sowing was mainly carried out on the lands where the wheat harvest has been obtained. Sugar beet is resistant to cold and capable to survive during winter.

The sugar factory of the Maryşeker Open Joint Stock Company carries out the necessary processing works. Currently, the factory operates at full capacity.
