Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted the first meeting of the Coordination Commission for the implementation of the 2020 Action Plan in the framework of the Program for the Development of Turkmenistan's Foreign Economic Activities for 2020-2025.
During the meeting, the participants were briefed on the significance of the Program and on the implementation of the Action Plan in the first quarter, and discussed other relevant issues.
The speakers noted the above-mentioned conceptual document was developed with the aim of developing foreign economic activity on an integrated basis and on further improving its political and legal foundations.
The document is also aimed at expanding mutually beneficial cooperation of Turkmenistan with foreign countries, international organizations, including financial and economic organizations.
The document includes a set of measures for the effective use of market mechanisms to attract foreign investment in various industries, diversification of export-oriented and import-substituting production, and on the industrialization of the country.
The parties noted with satisfaction that in recent years, the trade and economic cooperation of Turkmenistan with interested partners has been developing dynamically at the level of business structures, and spoke in favor of continuing close cooperation in this area.
The meeting gathered heads and leading experts of ministries and industry departments, the Mejlis (Parliament), the Academy of Sciences, the Hyakimlik (Administration) of the city of Ashgabat, and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.
