The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) discussed the key vectors of cooperation during a video conference meeting on Wednesday.
The parties confirmed their interest in further expanding the established fruitful cooperation, considered issues related to joining of Turkmenistan to the UNCTAD Council on Trade and Development and exchanged views on expanding multilateral cooperation.
During the online meeting, the parties paid special attention to the implementation of the State Customs Service - UNCTAD-UNDP joint project on implementing the Single Window system for foreign trade in Turkmenistan in the context of the implementation of the second stage of the Concept of Development of the Digital Economy for 2020-2023.
The modern software is designed to facilitate the establishment of electronic declaration, improve and simplify the procedures the registration and document processing procedures.
The UNCTAD, with 195 member countries, aims to provide comprehensive support to the development of international trade and equal, mutually beneficial cooperation, including through the implementation of relevant programs.
Last year, the Turkmen State Customs Service and the UNCTAD signed a technical cooperation project agreement on implementation of the ASYCUDA World integrated customs information system, through which the Single Window system will be used in all customs points of Turkmenistan.
