Turkmenistan Delivers Around 20% of Georgia’s Total Fuel Imports
Georgia for the first time this year imported A-91 brand gasoline from Turkmenistan.

Georgia imported 16.8 thousand tons of gasoline and diesel fuel, which is 19.9 percent of total imports, from Turkmenistan in March 2020, according to the Union of Oil Product Importers of Georgia.

In the first quarter of 2020, Georgia’s imports of gasoline and diesel fuel amounted to 244.4 thousand tons, which is 11.8 thousand tons or 5.1percent more compared to the same period last year.

Georgia primarily imported gasoline and diesel fuel from Russia (19 thousand tons), Turkmenistan (16.8 thousand tons), Romania (16.3 thousand tons) and Azerbaijan (9.7 thousand tons).

According to the report, Georgia for the first time this year imported A-91 brand gasoline from Turkmenistan (17% of total imports in the first quarter of 2020).

In October last year, Turkmenistan accounted for 100% of aviation fuel imported by Georgia. Back then, Georgia imported 2.1 thousand tons of jet fuel from Turkmenistan.
