Turkmenistan intends to launch production of new cement grades at cement plants of the Ministry of Industry and Construction Production.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Shamuhammet Durdyliyev briefed the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the relevant work during the video conference meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Friday.

According to the report, the Ministry of Industry and Construction Production, together with the Institute of Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences, took successful steps on using active mineral additives in cement production.

Turkmenistan already produces Portland cement grade 400-G20-K. Work is also underway to establish the production of cement grade 500-G20-K.

The necessary active mineral supplements for the production, basalt porphyrites, are extracted from Ufra deposit, which belongs to the Balkan ore department. Due to their physicochemical properties, these minerals significantly improve the quality of the cement.

The production of the aforementioned products will increase the volume of high-quality cement production up to 20 percent.

The Head of State said there are all the possibilities, primarily the rich mineral resources, to intensify work on the production of import-substituting products in the country.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the crucial importance of the transport bridges put into operation in the country in international corridors. At the same time, the Turkmen Leader expressed dissatisfaction with the work of the Vice-Premier due to his shortcomings in the proper operation and timely repair of bridges.

The Turkmen President instructed the Vice-Premier Durdyliyev to ensure personal control over the proper maintenance and timely repair of bridges in the country's velayats.
