Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on Friday organized a briefing titled "International cooperation of Turkmenistan in the healthcare sphere", which focused on the COVID-19 related issues.
The briefing gathered the heads and representatives of the ministries of Foreign Affairs, Health and Medical Industry, and other relevant departments of Turkmenistan, leading political scientists of the country, heads of diplomatic missions and representatives of international organizations accredited in the country, local and accredited journalists of foreign media outlets.]
Heads and representatives of the healthcare sector of a number of foreign countries also attended the event via a video link. Thus, over 60 representatives from 20 countries took part in the briefing.
The briefing participants exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation between Turkmenistan and international partners.
The participants also discussed the establishment of a global mechanism for resolving crisis situations. The parties agreed that protecting the health of all people lies at the heart of the sustainable development process.
The meeting participants said as a result of a clear and well-coordinated policy of Turkmenistan, the country managed to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus infection on its territory.
