Ashgabat, Abu Dhabi Consider Expanding Business Ties
Officials of Turkmenistan and UAE discussed current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation.

Political consultations between Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of UAE  was held via a video link on Wednesday. The sides discussed current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation.

The meeting participants exchanged views on expanding cooperation in such strategic areas as trade and economic sphere, fuel and energy, transport and communications, banking and financial sectors, and cultural and humanitarian field. The sides noted the presence of considerable potential for building up business ties and enhancing investment activity.

The diplomats noted the active multilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UAE and the positive cooperation of the two countries within the framework of international organizations, particularly the UN. The parties also discussed issues on expanding the juridical base of the two states.

The interlocutors also exchanged views on Turkmenistan’s initiatives put forward in the international arena to overcome the impact of the pandemic in the region and in the world.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Berdiniyaz Matiyev headed the Turkmen side, while Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Political Affairs Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar headed the UAE side.
