Turkmenistan to Pardon 1,402 Prisoners, Including 210 Foreign Citizens
Turkmenistan pardons prisoners on occasion of the Night of Qadr.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on Friday signed a Decree on pardoning 1,192 Turkmen prisoners and 210 prisoners of foreign citizenship on occasion of the Night of Qadr.

The Decree was signed during a video conference meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.

According to the Decree, the convicted persons are released from further serving the main punishment in the form of imprisonment and from the additional punishment in the form of living in a particular area.

The Head of State instructed the Minister of Interior Affairs Mammethan Chakiyev, together with the heads of law enforcement agencies, to implement the necessary measures for the rapid release of prisoners and their speedy return to home.

The Night of Qadr, which is the 27th night of Ramadan, this year falls on the night of May 19 to May 20.
