Deputies of the Mejlis (Parliament) of Turkmenistan on Tuesday took part in the first video conference meeting of a series of webinars for parliamentarians on the response to COVID-19 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The event was organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) and Parliamentarians for achieving SDGs. The online session gathered parliamentarians of states from all regions of the world, international experts in the fields of public health and economy.
The session participants focused on best practices for combating the epidemic and restoring the global economy in a sustainable and comprehensive manner, guided by the UN SDGs and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.
The parties exchanged views on the sustainable recovery of economy to pre-pandemic levels.
