Businesspeople with the right to carry out activities in relevant field will also be involved in the creation of a system of automated electronic information databases.
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave the relevant instruction to Deputy Prime Minister Bayramgeldi Ovezov during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers last Friday, according to the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH).
During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister reported on work for digitization of the economy and noted that relevant activities are underway for digitization of all branches of national economy, including ensuring legal regulation in this area.
In order to fulfill the instructions of President Berdimuhamedov on digitizing the mass media, websites of newspapers and magazines are being created and the their test runs are conducted by specialists of the Türkmenaragatnaşyk agency.
The Vice-premier said the systems of the electronic information databases are created in the ministries and departments, velayat and city administrations, adding that this work is planned to be accomplished by the end of 2022.
Following the report, the Head of State emphasized that the medium-term concept of the development of the digital economy in the country has been implemented since 2019 with the aim of diversifying the national economy and further modernizing the development of the digital industry. Ensuring the universal accessibility to IT services is one of the key tasks of digitalization, Turkmen Leader said.
Stressing the need to study and implement the best practices and initiatives, the President of Turkmenistan noted that it is necessary to focus on creating a digital model based not only on ready-to-import solutions and know-how, but also on the country's scientific and technical potential.
