Turkmen Defense Minister to Attend Moscow Victory Day Parade
President Berdimuhamedov informed that Turkmen soldiers will participate in a Victory Day Parade in Moscow.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow informed Russian President Vladimir Putin in a phone conversation on Friday that he would be unable to visit Moscow for the events marking the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

According the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH), Turkmen Leader would not be able to personally take part in the celebrations because he will celebrate his 63rd birthday- the age of Prophet Muhammad. In accordance with the established national traditions, this date is celebrated with family, relatives and friends, and with the people of Turkmenistan.

Turkmenistan introduced quarantine measures amid coronavirus pandemic, so each individual needs to self-isolate for 14 days after returning from a foreign country, which makes it impossible to travel abroad at the present time, according to the report.

President Berdimuhamedov said Turkmen soldiers will participate in a military parade in Moscow devoted to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, adding that Defense Minister Major General Begench Gundogdiyev would lead the country’s delegation to Moscow.

The Presidents of the two countries also exchanged views on the priority areas of bilateral ties.

At the end of the conversation, Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Vladimir Putin expressed confidence that the traditional interstate dialogue, which is based on long-standing ties of friendship and good neighborliness, would successfully develop, gaining new content.
