Cargo Trains Pass Through Disinfection Tunnels in Turkmen-Iranian Border

A cargo train carrying 30 wagons of cement entered Turkmenistan through Iran’s Incheburun railway border crossing with the country on Tuesday, Mehr News Agency reports citing Seyyed Rouhollah Latifi, the spokesman of Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

The IRICA spokesman further noted that six other wagons of products were exported to Turkmenistan via Lotfabad-Artyk border crossing.

Iran has exported products carried by 120 wagons to via Sarakhs border crossing with Turkmenistan since last Thursday, Rouhollah Latifi said.

The IRICA spokesman also announced that 101 more wagons are waiting to export products to Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan through Incheburun railway border crossing.

The trains enter Turkmenistan after passing through disinfection tunnels in compliance with health protocols.

A 677-km long North-South railway corridor connecting Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran was commissioned in 2014 to facilitate trade within the region.
